Cancer Awareness: March

I seem to have come full circle with my monthly cancer awareness posts. Rather than post again, and duplicate all this for another year, I will simply link to it, after giving a shorter talk.

March lays claim to colon (colorectal) and kidney cancers, which are the dark blue and orange ribbons, respectively. For kidney cancer there is not much out there for screening, but I cannot stress enough how important it is to have regular colonoscopies. This is especially important if you have a family history of either colon polyps or colon cancer! The earlier it is caught, the easier it is to fight!

As always, know your body!

I am a married mother of 3 kids who is a self-proclaimed Lion King fanatic! I am obsessed with crafting, and anything Coca-Cola. I am also a survivor of both ovarian and endometrial cancers (plus breast and colon pre-cancers), and pay it forward by volunteering for Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society.
