Let me start off with myself. I am the same. My persistent sore throat (since July) led to me getting an endoscopy yesterday (the PCP suspected I had silent reflux.) Everything looked good. I am concerned, because I was really hoping to at least get an answer for the sore throat. I now have to visit an ENT specialist to further investigate. I am more sore in the throat than before the test because the expanded it during the test hoping to help with my trouble swallowing. I will be getting bloodwork soon. My liver, SED rate, and other readings have been too high for a while. The cancer is at this point too small I guess to be seen on any of the recent CT scans. This waiting game is annoying.
Pop Pop (Dale) is back in the hospital, since last Friday. His PET scan for today had to be cancelled because he has not been released. (No PET scan machines at the hospital he was admitted to.) He was having problems with his oxygen levels in his blood upon entry to the ER on Friday. His kidneys were also functioning at 50%. Meanwhile, they have been running a number of tests on him. I don’t know when he will be released.
Sharon went into the assisted living last Thursday. She seems to be adjusting well. I know this step has given my mom a measure of relief. She was very overwhelmed having to care for both me and Sharon. At least, now, the assisted living facility is taking the pressure of her. It was truly the best decision because we weren’t able to give her the level of care she needed. The facility price includes a lot of stuff: meals, snacks, laundry, assistance with tasks like bathing and dressing, cable TV service, etc.
