Medical Update

Well, I was released from the hospital on Friday evening. Sorry for the lack of updates in between. I still have the catheter and drain in my belly, and had to go home with it in. Hopefully they will think of removing it on Tuesday. I ended up having a Staph infection. They finally figured out a combination of antibiotics that were safe for me (that I wasn’t allergic to! *LOL*) I will have to take oral ones now at home. The pathology on the fluid has not come back yet, but we’re hopeful that the infection is all there is. My port ended up being infected, as well. So, before I left on Friday, they sent me down for another surgery to have the port removed. That was NOT fun…no sedation, I was wide awake. They could not glue it shut like they did when they put it in, because of the infection. So, it is loosely stitched…yet another avenue for infection. I will have to see my doctor to have those removed in about a week.

We are going to have to make a lot of life adjustments, now, considering my health is constantly an issue. I don’t want to get into everything now, at least until this coming week when I put most of the plans into motion. I hope to update everyone soon!
