I just wanted to give an update on health issues for everyone.
The original sinus infection resolved, but now I seem to have picked up another infection of some sort. The pain in the side is still there, and the pain over my gallbladder surgery scar has intensified. (Ripping a new hernia, maybe?)
As for the accident, my left ankle pain seems to be mostly gone. The doctor took me out of the boot, and I was able to switch to a more low-key brace for the ankle. I also graduated to one crutch again. The toe pain is there, still. It’s not quite as bad, but there nonetheless. I am going for an MRI to follow up on it. (Right ankle, no changes…since like 2009.)
Since the mass on my kidney is so small, I am getting a follow-up CT scan in January. Hopefully we will be able to see more info at that time.
In 2010, when I had the genetic testing done, they only tested for BRCA1 and BRCA2, which were both negative. (No known family history, at that time.) Since then, I discovered that my maternal grandfather had colon cancer (and not intestinal, like we thought.) We also discovered my paternal grandmother DID, in fact, have ovarian cancer. That all being said, I will be getting genetic testing again, this time to test for lynch syndrome.
And, I finally found out what type of ovarian cancer I have: ovarian endometriod carcinoma.
More news will come as I get it!
