Well, for the second day in a row, I’ve put two postings each day. But, I’ve had a lot to write about! Earlier today, I gave a guide about the new Cricut cutting mats that were released. In that post, I briefly mentioned the Cricut Iron-ons. I want to go into a bit more detail.
First off, the official launch of the Cricut Iron-ons is April 11th. What are they? Cricut’s site describes it as a “decorative heat transfer film”, and some places are calling it iron-on vinyl. So, why do you need this? How is it different that just printing an iron-on with your computer and slapping it on a shirt? Well, this pre-colored film is cuttable with your Cricut. Preview pictures seem to show that it doesn’t just come in solid colors, but also GLITTER! Yes, glitter. This method of decoration will be a LOT less messy than the Yudu Screen Printing system, as you can arrange the items freely on your fabric before you iron it. No paint clean-up. I definitely have my eye on this!
A bunch of lucky crafting bloggers got to test the stuff out before its release. Check out the gallery: http://www.cricut.com/home/iron-on-showcase
