Well, it has officially been almost 7 weeks since I have been sick. Most of that time has been spent in bed, as I am too weak to walk around. The newest set of bloodwork did not show anything, so I doubt the rash is dermatomyositis, as we thought. It’s still a complete mystery how and why this rash happened. Although, it this point it is more of an un-healing wound, as the blisters burst and wounds developed where the open skin was. And anyone who knows my history knows that wounds take a long time to heal for me. (The record was a surgical wound which took from March until November to heal!) I go back to see the dermatologist on Thursday, so hopefully they can shed some light on the situation.
I’m still very dizzy and disoriented. I still have nausea every time I try to eat sitting up. The migraines have been out of control…I’m probably taking more Imitrex lately than I have needed to take in a whole 6 months. My muscles are aching all the time, they feel like they all weight a ton, and I’m very weak. I’m very fatigued, more-so that I usually am with the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This sore throat has not gone away since all the symptoms started. And, of course, the abdominal pain that started a few weeks ago rarely subsides. (They had to double my painkillers, with not much help.)
This past weekend, Brian and I went to NYC, as we planned. I really was not well enough to go, and spent the whole time in a wheelchair. But, unfortunately, I thought I would be better by now, as I paid up on this trip (in advance, non-refundable) considering I booked everything well over a month ago. Who would have though that I’d still be sick? Cancelling would have meant losing out on everything I paid into the trip. I felt so bad that he had to push me around the whole time. And I took a LOT of Compazine to hold down my meals, because since I sat up to eat stuff, my stomach tried to reject it all. (Because of the aforementioned nausea.) But, I finally got to see Wicked on Broadway.
