Yeah, I know. I need to write more. 🙂
Well, some good news: I don’t carry the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutations. Yes, I went through the genetic testing. (And yes, the insurance company is actually paying for it!) This pretty much confirmed what I already guessed:Â that there just isn’t a genetic reason for my cancer. At least my kids and other family members do not have to be subjected to the genetic tests since I tested negative.
I also saw my new surgeon for my adrenal mass, at my new hospital. Finally, it looks like I’m going to get this darned thing out! We’re shooting for the fall, to give me time to recover from the last surgery. First I have to go through some (surprise surprise) more tests. I already knew I was due for either a CT scan or an MRI. But the adrenal mass will warrant some endocrine testing, as well. Ah well, I’m already a pin cushion. (I also will need to go for more blood tests soon for pinpointing my lovely world of new unknown allergies. But I can wait a little bit on that one, another like 3 weeks.)
My ankle is not getting any better, though. I will call *gasp* another doctor to have that looked at. At this point, though, I think I just managed to injure a foot that has already taken too much damage as it is. The last time I injured it, it took months to get back to semi-normal, even though it was never the same.
Ah well. I need to get some rest soon. I had a great Mother’s Day. My wonderful husband took me to the movies. 🙂 (The new Nightmare on Elm Street remake was great!) He also cooked me breakfast this morning, some greasy foods (namely the bacon – my real weakness) that I shouldn’t have eaten, but they tasted SO good! He, as usual, is one of the main things keeping me going.
