Life has been a bit crazy, lately. I have been recovering, still. It has been a long road. The wounds are still not healed, but are getting there very slowly. Good news? My blood levels were down on the last blood test. So I do not have to go on diabetes meds (I think). I have been especially tired lately, though, and have had a lot of bad days where I can’t do much. But I try to go out, at least to the store, as often as I can. I also finally ditched the walker and am using the crutch again. More doctors are confirming that the crutch will likely be permanent, as the foot is not making any progress, even slight.

We had the Relay For Life the other weekend. It did not do as well as expected, but that was because of a bike race around the school on the same day. We only found out about it at the last minute. Unfortunately, I think the traffic situation discouraged most people from coming in. But, the weather held out and we had a lot of fun.

Sierra has been the medical star in the family lately, though. She has still not lost the migraines. She will be going back soon to tweak the medications, again. She went to the eye doctor last Friday, and ordered her new glasses, and is getting contacts, too! This is a big step for her. She does have an issue where she needs normal contacts in one eye, and toric lenses in the other eye. The doctor said he only sees this happen maybe once a year. But, she is determined. She really wanted contacts, and I certainly am not going to stop her. I remember back when I was her age and I desperately wanted contacts. No matter how much pleading and begging happened, I was stuck with my glasses. I guess what they say is true: when you become a parent, you want your kids to have the things you couldn’t. Perhaps the kids in school will not recognize her in the fall. (Well, maybe. She does have the unmistakable red hair, after all. But she got it permed again last week.) She is growing up SO fast!

Other than that, Brian’s heart PVCs are getting worse. He is on the medication, and it does not seem to be helping. The doctor is working with him.

Well, that is all for now. Hopefully I will have more to update, soon.
