Just another “not so often” update. 🙂
I wore the foot brace/boot for a month. When I went to the follow up, I ended up being told I have to wear the brace for another month. I started my first round of physical therapy today, and it went well. I just hope I don’t have to wear the boot for my brother’s wedding…because now I am filling in for a bridesmaid that pulled out!
I went to my follow-up with my surgeon, as well. He was able explain my pain that has been going on for months. Apparently it is damage from the recent surgeries. He said it could be a long time before it will go away, and there is nothing that can be done. Because of the damage, it will be a while longer before the surgery on my adrenal gland can commence. The good news is the endocrine testing came up negative. That means that the mass is not functioning, and probably not malignant. The surgery will be tentatively scheduled for next spring. In the meantime, however, he will research other possible options to help the issue beforehand, including maybe draining the fluid out of the mass, or even radiation to shrink it. I will have the have CT scans and appointments with him every 3 months, now, though.
Getting to Brian… His heart is physically okay, so they guess it must be stress that is causing the problems. So he has to be very careful for now. He is undergoing additional testing in regards to the Barrett’s Esophagus, and has many lifestyle and eating changes to help prevent it from becoming cancerous.
I should not have anymore updates for a little while, at least. Now to focus on the wedding!
